Unit 1 ●

This unit focuses on securing recall of additive facts for numbers from 5-10 (Ready to Progress 2NF–1 Fluently add and subtract within 10).

The Ready to Progress guidance says, 'In year 1, pupils should have learnt to add and subtract fluently within 10 (1NF–1). However, pupils may not still be fluent by the beginning of year 2, so this fluency should now be secured and maintained. Pupils should practise additive calculation within 10 until they have automatic recall of the additive facts.'

Unit 2 ●

This unit focuses on securing recall of additive facts for single digit numbers that bridge 10.  (Ready to Progress 2AS–1 Add and subtract across 10).

In their main maths lesson children should have been taught to add and subtract across ten using the making the next/previous ten strategy. Do not start this unit until children have had solid experiences of making the next/previous ten. The slides in this unit reinforce this work and provide a great deal of additional practice to support children in developing recall of additive facts that bridge ten.

Unit 3 ●

This unit focuses on developing fluency in multiplication facts. The primary focus is on multiplication facts, but there is also some work on division facts.

Each set of slides ends with two quizzes.
The first quiz focuses on the multiplication table that was the focus of the lesson. The second focuses on all multiplication tables learnt to date.

As with Unit 2, the slides in Unit 4 provide a great deal of vital additional practice to support children in developing fluency in bridging ten.
